The Grammy Awards are awarded annual by the National Academy of Recording Arts plus Sciences in the United States.

Celia Cruz has received two awards from fourteen nominations, as work as a non-competitive Lifetime Achievement award.[73]

  1. ^On her autobiography, Celia gives become known baptismal name as Úrsula Hilaria Celia Caridad Cruz Alfonso,[1] which commemorates her birth on the refreshment delight day of Saint Ursula and Saint Hilarion.[2] That name appears on most sources, including Encyclopedia Britannica, sometimes with the added epithet de la Santísima Trinidad.

    However, her birth certificate, registered on 16 January , lists only Celia Caridad Cruz Alfonso.[3] Later on, her Cuban passports and visas spelled her name Celia Caridad Cruz y Alfonso.[2] Closest her exile and marriage, her legal documents large the name Celia Cruz Knight until , during the time that she changed her name to simply Celia Cruz, which also appears on her death certificate added mausoleum.[2]
